Hello Friends! How was your weekend?! I spent my Sunday parading around Toronto in search of makeup. I was fortunate enough to stop into the Deciem store, and was able to pick up some of The Ordinary skincare!
The Ordinary is a skincare brand owned by Deciem, which also operates a ton of other brands. It originated in Toronto (I love supporting Canadian companies!), and they offer simple skincare at amazing prices.
I’ve been meaning to do an online order – they offer free shipping to Canada on orders over $25, but I figured I’d might as well pick the stuff up if I was going to be in Toronto.
Here’s what I purchased:
From left to right:
All together, this cost me about $35, which I think is AMAZING!
I was able to purchase two different foundations – one that is a higher coverage and one that is lighter. So now I have OPTIONS for which formula I want to use depending on how I’m feeling that day. I did get two different shades, but both are light. They just have different undertones, so I can decide which one looks better on me. I also got their high adherence silicone primer, because I do prefer my primers to have silicone in them. They offer another option which I think is better for people who have dry skin, but that’s definitely not me.
As for actual skincare, I got a toner and a bottle of salicylic acid. The toners that I currently use are The Body Shop’s tea tree oil toner, and Lush’s tea tree water toner. Clearly I have a theme of liking tea tree oil. I figured that I would change it up, and go with something that has glycolic acid in it instead. This will help to get rid of dead skin cells, reduce oil, and help to prevent breakouts from clogged pores. So pretty much all I need in life. The salicylic acid is a good spot treatment for when I do get pimples, or I can use it lightly all over my face to help prevent breakouts as as well.
Overall, I’m very happy with my purchases! I’ve used the skincare for two days and I can already see little differences in my skin. I will definitely be doing an update later on how it has effected my skin.
I think next time I’m in Toronto, or when I run out of products, I’m also going to pick up some Hyaluronic Acid, Argan Oil, and a Lactic Acid.
Just a heads up when using some of these products: a lot of them are AHA’s (or Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid’s) and these can increase your susceptibility to sunburns. Always be careful when using these!
Have you guys tried anything from The Ordinary before? If so let me know! Or if you have any recommendations 🙂
Until next time,
