A few days ago I did a holiday anti-haul list to talk about the stuff I’m not interested in for the upcoming holiday season. Today’s post I’m going to mention a few things that I think are worth your money (or really my money), and some new releases that I’m interested in purchasing. The want is so real for some of these products and it’s hard to remember that the need isn’t so real… but tell that to my brain that only has 1 thought: MAKEUP.
1. Sephora Favourites Give Me More Lip ($82)
The Sephora value sets are usually pretty good – and this is one i’ve been lusting after ever since I first saw it. It comes with 5 full size lipsticks and 10 deluxe samples, and that my friends, is enough to make me want to buy it. I love lipsticks, but I don’t love buying them. So this seems like a great opportunity to try out some new products without paying a ton of money for them. This is even a great idea to buy and then separate into multiple gifts (14 for me, and 1 for someone else).
2. Hourglass Ambient Edit – Volume 3 ($95)
Honestly, I don’t know what it is about this item that makes me want it. The colours are just so pretty and I love the marbled look that they have to them, and I feel like they might be light enough to use on my so very pale skin. While $95 does seem a bit pricey, Hourglass is known for having good quality products! Maybe I’ll bite the bullet and invest it this product, or maybe i’ll just occasionally go into Sephora and stare at it longingly – we’ll see.
Now I know this seems like an odd product to be on this list, but for some reason I was really fixated on glitter liner a month or two ago. I looked so hard but couldn’t find a glitter eyeliner – and then this appears! It’s like everything I wanted and MORE. This set comes with 3 double ended eyeliners so really it’s like 6 in one… So really, it’s an amazing deal, right? (Excuse me while I try and justify this to myself). Anyway, Tarte is one of my favourite brands and I really like their products, which is another reason why this is on my radar.
I love the idea of this because it comes with a lipstick and matching lipliner. I usually stay away from lipliner because I never really know which colour of lipliner to pair with a lipstick, and it just seems like an unnecessary step to me. But for $30 you get a Vice lipstick and one of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil, which is a really good deal. The only downside is that there are only 3 shade options, and one of which I already own.
5. Tarte Goddess Glow Highlighter ($46)
Surprise, surprise – another Tarte product on the list. Honestly, the only thing to say about this highlighter is that IT’S HUGE. Huge as in it’s the same size as my hand huge (although I do have child hands)! Also, the packaging is gorgeous, and so is the design imprinted on the actual highlighter. It’s a gorgeous colour, and really it’s just gorgeous overall. And of course, I do have a thing for Tarte products.
Is this everything I have my eye on? Oh hell no. More and more stuff is being released as we get closer to the holiday season and my brain just can’t stop thinking about all the new pretty makeup that it wants to play with. I might do an updated list a little bit closer to Christmas depending on what else is released!
What’s on your holiday makeup wish list? Leave me a comment and let me know if there’s anything great that I missed!
Until next time,
