Hello friends! Today I’m here to give you guys a review of the Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara. I’ve wanted to give this a try for the longest time, but I just couldn’t justify the price tag of $32. I was lucky enough to receive a sample from Topbox Circle in exchange for an honest review (if you haven’t already signed up, you should probably go do that. Like, now. It’s okay, I’ll wait.). To be quite honest, after registering to receive the sample, I realized that I messed up my address and assumed it actually wouldn’t make it to me. BUT IT DID.
I’ve been using this mascara for about a week now, and I’m ready to give you guys my review!
Here’s a before and after picture (let’s all just ignore the bags under my eyes, okay?)
I’d say the first thing that’s very noticeable is the fact that there’s little bits of mascara all. over. my. eye. That’s strike one for me. When I wear makeup, it usually means I’m going to be wearing it for 10+ hours between work and life. So I definitely need something that isn’t going to flake all over my face.
My second issue with this is that it does get clumpy pretty fast. One second you’re adding a layer to get more volume, and the next second you have 8 lashes because they’ve all clumped together.
It’s not all bad though, I will say that this does emphasize the length of my lashes – which is something that I really like. Unfortunately, it doesn’t give me the volume that I like too.
Overall, it’s not a bad mascara. When combined with something else, I actually quite like it. But on it’s own, it just doesn’t give me the wow factor that I was expecting for a $30 mascara.
While I will continue to use my sample, I can say I won’t be shelling out the $30 to purchase it myself. I’m so grateful to Topbox Circle and Lancome for giving me the opportunity to test out this mascara!
No matter if I bought a product of received it for free, I will always give you guys an honest review. All opinions are my own, and they are what I really do think of a product.
Have you guys used this mascara before? If so, let me know what you thought of it!
Until next time,
