Hello friends! Today’s post is going to be my October Boxycharm Unboxing! This is something that I look forward to every month – it’s that good!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Boxycharm, it’s a monthly makeup subscription that costs $21 a month US. (depending on the dollar, it comes to around $34 Canadian for me) Every month you will receive four to five full sized products that equal over $100! Usually it’s around $120-$130 though. A majority of the products are brand names, and products I’ve personally received have come from: Tarte, Mac, Ofra, Laura Geller, Smashbox, Luxie Brushes, Pur Cosmetics, and so many more! This really is my favourite subscription box, and no, I’m not getting paid to say that!

If you’re considering subscribing, if you so choose, you can use my code, and both of us might receive an extra product in our box! If not, that’s totally okay – you do you!

And now back to our scheduled program…

October Boxycharm Unboxing

The products that I received are:

I haven’t had the opportunity to try out all of the products yet, but I have tried the mascara and liquid lipstick. Unfortunately I was not a fan of the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara – it made my lashes so clumpy. I wasn’t even able to wear it out of the house because it looked so bad. I did some research, and the reviews either said it was amazing, or it made their lashes clumpy. I guess it’s a hit or miss product, and I’m not 100% sure why it didn’t work for me, but I will not be using it in the future.

On the other hand, I did really enjoy the Kat Von D liquid lipstick! It’s a gorgeous mauve shade, and it’s one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks that I’ve worn. While it is still drying, it doesn’t flake off of my lips, or make them feel like they’re going to fall off.

I don’t plan on keeping the Pur Cosmetics eyeshadow palette – I have so many palettes and I feel like I have the same shadows in other palettes. Stay tuned, because it’s going to be going in my next giveaway! It features four cheek products and six eyeshadows.

I’m a little on the fence about the Farmacy Green Clean balm. I’ve heard some amazing things about it, and I’m sure my skin could really need it… But, I don’t know how I feel about the whole rubbing melted makeup all over my face thing. I’ve watched videos and it works well, but it’s very messy. If I do decide to keep it, I’ll definitely update you guys on it!

Lastly, I’m interested in trying out the Dermovia peel off mask. It’s a little different than the usual charcoal peel off mask, as this one comes with a lace mask that you put over top of the product. It’s supposed to help when you peel it off, and it allows you to multitask while you mask! I love peel off masks that get all the gunk out of my pores, so I’m looking forward to using this.

There was a lot of talk about receiving a Kat Von D product, as many people are not supporting her anymore since she announced she will not be vaccinating her child. In August we received one of Laura Lee’s eyeshadow palettes, and again, people were not impressed. Obviously these boxes are prepared in advance and there’s little that the company can do once it has already been created. There is a silver lining though! There are lots of places online (mainly Facebook groups) where you can trade and sell your unwanted Boxycharm items so they don’t go to waste!

Or, if you’re feeling generous, you could always donate your items to your local women’s shelter, or an organization like Project Beauty Share.

There are multiple variations for the October Boxycharm, and sometimes products and shades vary. But like I said, you have options to trade or donate!

Boxycharm also allows you to leave reviews on products that you’ve received in exchange for charms. Charms can be used to purchase items in their store, and you can actually get some good stuff! For every item you review you get 50 charms, which would equal 50 cents. I actually have an order of stuff on the way that I got for free using my charms!

I’m going to stop rambling on about how awesome Boxycharm is, and I just want to reiterate that all opinions are my own and this is not a sponsored post!

Until next time,

Britt
