Hello friends! I’m here today with a mascara review – the Covergirl Exhibitionist Mascara to be exact.

If I’m being honest, mascara reviews might be my favourite to do. I’m not really sure why I’m so attracted to mascara, but I am. Maybe because it’s probably the makeup product that I’ve been wearing the longest? Not really sure. But as someone who has very light blonde lashes, I find mascara is essentially a necessity in my day to day makeup routine.

This mascara claims to give you full and volumized lashes in only one coat. Quite the claim, I’d say.

Here’s a before and after of my lashes after using the Covergirl exhibitionist mascara:

Covergirl Exhibitionist Mascara Before and After

To be honest, I was quite impressed with this mascara! I don’t have the best track record with Covergirl products, so it was nice to find one that I actually liked. I have a love hate relationship with Covergirl – I want to love them, but many of their products just don’t work well on me. On the positive side, they are now leaping bunny approved!

The wand on this mascara is very similar (if not identical to) the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. This is quickly becoming a very popular style of mascara wand, and it seems like every brand is coming out with their own now. The downside to these wands is that they flare out at the tip, so I find it kind of difficult to get those baby hairs in the corner of my eye. If you have lot’s of tiny baby hairs, this might be a difficult mascara for you to use – and I’d go with one that has a tapered tip.

I was able to achieve volume and length in two coats – not the one that it promises. Again, not a huge deal because I generally layer on my mascara anyway. So I’ll let their claim of one coat slide. The one thing that it didn’t really do for me was give my lashes any curl.

In terms of for formula, it’s not super wet or super dry – but somewhere in the middle. It doesn’t make your lashes feel heavy or crunchy once it dries unlike other formulas I’ve used. I did find that the tube is drying out quite quickly though. Additionally, I’ve had it for not even a month and it’s reached the point where it’s starting to bug my eyes.

Long story short:

The Pros

  • Gives good volume and length
  • Non-crunchy formula that leaves you lashes still feeling like lashes
  • Easy to remove formula
  • Possibly a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
  • Cruelty free

The Cons

  • Hourglass shaped brush makes it difficult to get tiny hairs in the inner corner
  • Doesn’t give any curl
  • Dried out quite quickly
  • Very similar to other mascaras on the market right now

Overall, I did really enjoy this mascara! I would consider it a dupe for Better Than Sex, but I still prefer the original from Too Faced. I would consider repurchasing if I wasn’t always trying out new mascaras.

If you’re looking for a mascara that will give you volume and length, then I’d give this one a try!

Until next time,

Britt
