Hello friends! How are you guys doing? I hope this hot weather has been treating you all well. Today’s post actually has something to do with the weather, because I’m talking about my favourite mattifying and pore filling primers.
While some people like rocking the dewy look, I’m more of a matte kind of girl. My skin is very oily, so in the summer it just gets worse and to be honest, it’s not a good look for me. While I’m not wearing a ton of foundation because of the heat/sweat/oil combo I’ve got going on, sometimes I’ll still add some primer to my face to make it look more matte and smooth. The smooth thing is also a huge plus, because I have large pores that are noticeable.
I really love how soft and smooth this makes my skin look and feel. It fills my pores, but it doesn’t feel heavy. Foundation and concealer apply and blend well over this, or you can wear it alone to make your skin look smooth and matte. It really does help to prolong the wear of my makeup, and it does what I want it to.
I’m not sure if the link above is 100% the same, but it’s the closest primer that I could find to the one that I have. Mine has SPF 15, while the one online has SPF 20. Anyway, this is another really good primer that helps to minimize the look of pores. I’ve tried the original Smashbox Photo Finish primer and it’s amazing as well! I love how smooth it applies, and you can really see the difference. You also might be able to find some of the Smashbox primers with the old packaging floating around your local Winners/Marshalls/ TJ Maxx! I was able to score mine for only $20.
If you’re on a budget, the Maybelline Master Prime Blur and Smooth gets an honorable mention. It visibly makes you skin appear matte, but I feel like it doesn’t do as good of a job at hiding my pores. It’s a good lightweight primer, and a good alternative if you don’t want to shell out a ton of money for a primer.
Have you been loving any particular primer lately? There’s a few that I really want to try, but I feel like I have to finish these ones up before I purchase a new one.
Until next time,
