Today is Thanksgiving in Canada, which means the holiday season is just around the corner! Limited edition holiday releases are now coming out in the beauty world, and I’m here to talk about the ones that I’m not interested in this year. While there are some great launches, there’s some that just don’t interest me – and here’s why!
1. Too Faced Boss Lady Beauty Agenda ($72)
For $72 you get apparently $416 worth of product in this bundle. This includes: 24 eyeshadows, a highlighter, a bronzer, a blush, a mini liquid lipstick, a mini mascara, an agenda, and stickers.
Honestly, as much as I like Too Faced, their products aren’t always the best of quality. And even though there are 24 eyeshadows, it just seems like they’re recycling the same colours over and over again. For someone who travels a lot then this might be good because you’ll have the shadows, and face powders all in the same place – but for me it’s just not something I’m personally interested in. Even though the packaging and the fact that it’s a planner is cute, I honestly wouldn’t use it and I’d rather spend my money on something else.
I’m going to be honest and say that I’ve never actually used a Becca product before. I’ve heard that they’re amazing, but for most of the products I just cant justify the price. This eyeshadow palette features 7 eyeshadows that are all pretty much neural. Overall, it just doesn’t seem worth it when you can get pretty much the same shades, and more, for a cheaper price. Unless the quality is completely life changing, I don’t really understand this product.
While this isn’t necessarily a holiday release, I’m going to put this product on the list because it was released around this time. My problem with this and most of the ABH glow kits is that since I’m so pale, I can usually use only one or maybe two shades in the kit. Am I going to spend $50 on it when I can only use one shade? No. Because I am a rational human being (sometimes). I think this product will be great for people who have medium or deeper skin tones, but for me it’s just not practical.
4. Tarte Blush Bazaar Book ($57)
I’ll admit that I did consider getting this for maybe like 42 seconds. But really, how often do I wear blush? The answer is not enough to justify buying a blush book with 8 of them. I have maybe 4 or 5 blushes in my makeup collection and that’s enough for me. But for someone who is a makeup artist, then this would probably be a really good buy! It’s actually a decent price for what you get – but if I purchased it then it probably would have been because I thought the packaging was pretty.
5. Urban Decay Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette
Not much is known about this palette yet, but it will include 20 shimmer eyeshadows. While I’m a huge fan of shimmer shadows, I just don’t know if I need 20 of them in one palette – especially if a lot of them are colours that I don’t really know what to do with.
That’s all I can think of for now, but maybe as we get closer to the Holiday’s I’ll add an updated post! Also stay tuned for my list of things that I am interested in (which will probably be 1000 times longer).
Leave me a comment and let me know what releases you’re interested in for the upcoming holiday season!
Until next time,
